In the heart of Spring, Texas, tucked inside the high-energy training halls of AIM Athletics, a young gymnast is turning dreams into milestones and routines into gold. Mackenzie Neumann, a talented and determined Level 9 gymnast, is not just climbing the ranks of competitive gymnastics—she’s making a name for herself as one of the sport’s brightest young stars.

A Humble Start, A Fierce Climb

Mackenzie’s gymnastics journey began like many others—with cartwheels in the living room, a love for movement, and an early spark of confidence. But what sets her apart is what came next: years of discipline, early morning practices, long days in the gym, and an unwavering focus on excellence. Under the guidance of the expert coaching staff at AIM Athletics, Mackenzie steadily rose through the levels of USA Gymnastics, displaying strength, grace, and determination far beyond her years.

As a Level 9 gymnast, Mackenzie has become known for her explosive power on vault, precision on beam, and the expressive artistry she brings to her floor routines. She consistently posts top scores in meets and has become a standout not just locally, but across the state, region and nation.

Crowning Achievement: Western National Champion

In one of the biggest moments of her young career, Mackenzie clinched the title of Level 9 Junior Western National Champion—an elite accomplishment that places her among the top gymnasts in the country for her level and age group. Her performance at the national stage was a masterclass in focus and composure, combining technical excellence with artistic flair.

Winning Westerns isn't just a medal on the shelf. It’s a statement—a reflection of Mackenzie’s relentless drive, her love for the sport, and the incredible support system behind her, including her coaches, family, and teammates.

Eyes on the Future

With the Western National title under her belt, Mackenzie isn’t slowing down. Her goals include qualifying to Level 10, competing at the Junior Olympic Nationals, and one day making a run at collegiate gymnastics—or perhaps even something greater. She trains with purpose and poise, pushing herself to improve with every rep, every routine, and every meet.

Off the mat, Mackenzie shines just as brightly. Known for her humility, kindness, and quiet confidence, she balances her athletic pursuits with academic excellence and active involvement in her community. Whether helping a younger gymnast nail their first handstand or leading by example in the gym, Mackenzie is more than an athlete—she’s a role model in motion.

Coaches Role in Development

“I don't thank my coaches enough for the support and confidence they give me every day.  All of my coaches are absolutely amazing.

 “Coach Debbie and Coach Deana are twins, and they own the gym I train at – AIM Athletics in Spring. They were accomplished gymnasts in their own right and trained alongside the world-renowned Karole’s. They were coaches on National Teams before opening their own gym. They bring a passion and dedication to the team and us individually with all apparatus. My mom says that watching them coach is like watching art – it’s beautiful. I truly believe that their leadership and guidance has set AIM Athletes apart from the rest. They work hard to provide us with an accomplished coaching staff.”

 

“The coaches we have on a daily basis for the optional level 6-10 team girls are different from the coaches that the compulsory 2-5 level team girls have. All of our coaches help with every event, but typically they specialize in certain events. Coach Niko and Egor are both from Russia. It took me a long time to learn how to understand them both. Coach Niko is a perfect combination of supportive and hard on me at any given moment. He is our protector and mentor and an amazing coach for uneven bars and vault.

“Coach Xante help bring consistency and support through the good times and the bad and always have an eye out ready to help us correct any issues they see within our routines with a warm smile and supportive yet authoritative coaching.

 “Coach Ainsley is an amazing choreographer who is supportive and ensures that all of our floor exercise routines are unique and stand out amongst the rest. She works hard to assure that our routines showcase our unique personalities and skill sets. She makes sure that no hand or foot is out of place. Every movement is intentional, and she helps make sure they are precise. So, I would like to give a big shout out to Coach Ainsley and her dynamic business Routines by Ainsley. All of my coaches expect me to work hard, and they expect a lot of me. As I think they should. They work as hard as I do to assure my progress, safety, and success.”
